This controversy surrounding this is interesting to me, if only because the way sexuality is discussed in education is always so scientific. Sex is portrayed as something solely for the purpose of baby making. The pleasure principal is always removed.
I bet some of the people who were “outraged” by the display could rattle off a bunch of their top favorite internet porn sites at command. The concept of taking sex/orgasm out of the dark of the bedroom and illuminating it context of education upsets people for some reason though. It’s like theres a giant condom carrying elephant in the room that is our society, and no one wants to talk about it. Whatevs lol…
The demonstration was optional and the students are technically adults, capable of making the decision of whether or not go. It was extremely radical, but I think it’s looking in the right direction, in the way that we discuss and educate about sex.
